LINCOLN — The number of Nebraskans receiving public food aid has declined nearly 17%, or by about 25,000 people, since last July when Congress approved a massive 2025 tax and spending cuts package, according to newly released data from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

OMAHA — Democrat Denise Powell raised significantly more money than Republican Brinker Harding in Nebraska’s most-watched congressional race, according to the latest campaign finance reports, but the two are almost even when it comes to how much cash they can spend.

The number of cases of cyclosporiasis — a parasitic infection linked to contaminated water or food that causes severe intestinal issues — has more than doubled to over 4,173 cases across 41 states this week, up from the 1,645 confirmed cases in 34 states reported last week by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
